Calculate Bra & Cup Size ABCD | Am I Wearing The Wrong Sized Band/Cup Bra?

Wearing the right bra size plays a vital role in ensuring comfort, confidence, and overall well-being. However, many women still struggle to find their perfect fit because of limited size options and insufficient guidance. Every woman desires a bra that feels comfortable and doesn’t dig into the skin or create unwanted bulges. Measuring your size accurately and choosing the right fit is essential to feeling at ease in your outfits.

Determine Your Perfect Bra Size:

First measure your Band Size (Underbust)

  • Step 1
    • Keep the tape straight and measure around to determine your band size.
    • Ensure the tape is wrapped snugly around the area just beneath your bust to take the measurement.
    • Pull the tape snugly so your bra will feel comfortable against your skin. Round the measurement up to the nearest whole number. For example, 84.5 cm becomes 85 cm (Note down it in centimeter).

Then measure your Cup Siez (Overbust)

  • Step 2
    • Take the measurement at the widest point of the chest.
    • The tape should be level and flat against your skin. Ensure it’s not twisted and that it feels firm without compressing your body.
    • Record the measurement. If the reading includes a decimal, round it to the nearest whole inch or centimeter.

Once you have determined your band size and bust size, the next step is to calculate your cup size, which completes your bra size measurement. The cup size is determined by the difference between your bust size and band size. For instance, if your bust measures 36 inches and your band measures 34 inches, the 2-inch difference corresponds to a B cup. Use the chart below to match the difference in inches to the correct cup size:

What are A, B, C, D? What is the difference between cup size and bra size?

Bra size is a combination of two measurements: the band size and the cup size. Cup size specifically refers to the volume of your breasts and is indicated by letters such as A, B, C, D, and so on. It is determined by the difference between your bust measurement (around the fullest part of your chest) and your underbust measurement (around the ribcage, just below the breasts). For example, a small difference might correspond to an A cup, while a larger difference indicates a C or D cup.

Which is the Commonly Used Cup Size?

In contrast, bra size combines the cup size with the band size to give a complete measurement, ensuring a proper fit and support. While the cup size tells you about the breast volume, the band size ensures the bra sits snugly around your torso, holding everything in place. Understanding both is essential for finding a bra that is both comfortable and flattering.
